Deqing Sun is a senior staff research scientist at Google. He received his Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from Brown University, advised by Michale J. Black. He was a postdoctoral fellow at Harvard University and then a senior research scientist at NVIDIA before joining Google. His research interests include computer vision and machine learning, particularly optical flow estimation and the applications to video processing. He served as area chair for CVPR/ECCV/ICCV/NeurIPS/ICLR/BMVC, and co-organized several workshops/tutorials at CVPR and ECCV. He is a recipient of the best paper honorable mention award at CVPR 2018, the best paper finalist at CVPR 2022 and ICCV 2023, the first prize in the robust optical flow competition at CVPR 2018 and ECCV 2020, the Longuet-Higgins prize at CVPR 2020, the TPAMI Young Research Award in 2020, and IEEE AI's 10 to Watch in 2022.
